    The History of Hartman Lofts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Hartman Lofts, originally built in 1869 by Samuel Hartman (who was the wealthiest man in Columbus<\/a> at the time) as an extension of patient rooms for his surgical center the Hartman was opened in 1901 as a hotel. Many of Dr. Hartman\u2019s friends and business associates were known to stay at the hotel including world leaders and Ohio\u2019s elite. Governor Andrew Harris actually lived at the Hartman during his term. When he built The Hartman Building, it housed a hotel and a sanatorium. On the sixth floor of the hotel there was lodging and it also housed a lecture hall and an extravagant ballroom. In 1921, it became Ohio\u2019s first Bureau of Motor Vehicles. In 1926, a bank moved into the first floor and when Huntington acquired it in the \u201960s, it remained at this location until 1995. In 2006, the hotel rooms were converted into condominiums<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As the glory days of the Hartman, it had many varying uses and fell into disrepair. In 2005 the Hartman was resurrected from its last incarnation as a shuttered bank and renamed the Hartman Lofts. Structures built before the 20th century are few and far between in the Central Business District so it was important to breathe new life into this historic structure. The restoration took the past into consideration but it also meets the current, urban, needs of its residents.  Today, there are commercial offices spaces on the first floor and condominiums on the remaining floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Modern Renovations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Hartman lofts and condominiums were created in 2006. Each condo, converted from a previous hotel room, offers its own unique design and layout. The stunning renovation of this building brought in modern touches while keeping the elegant feel of the former luxury hotel. These condos boast mahogany wood ceilings, steel beams, exposed brick walls, and large windows that extend nearly floor to ceiling.  The condos range from smaller condos approximately 600 square feet to larger condos more than double the size. There is a bedroom\/bathroom combination to suite the different wants and needs of the buyer. There is off-street, secure parking for residents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    You can still see the historic elegance of the Hartman Lofts in the gorgeous marble foyer, elegant, staircase, and other fine historic touches. While residents of the Hartman Lofts are living in a historic building they have all the modern conveniences. The kitchens are modern and sleek and the units, whether they are 1 bedroom condos or the rarer 2 bedroom condos, are roomy and comfortable. Each unit also comes with stack-able washer and dyers.<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking to move to Downtown Columbus and want to be able to walk to entertainment, work, or social hour then the Hartman Lofts may be the right place for you.Residents do not have to go far to find something to do or eat, entertainment and dining are literally right across the street. The Walrus, 16-Bit Bar and Arcade and Hadley\u2019s Bar and Kitchen are just a few of the many local attractions. The Columbus Commons are a block away where one can enjoy the park, concerts, events and more. The Ohio Theatre is within walking distance where many events are held throughout the year.
